BHUTAN TRAVEL ITINERARY

  • Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, meet your guide and receive a traditional white scarf (khadar) welcome.

  • Begin a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

  • En route, stop at Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge, a 15th-century iron-chain bridge.

  • Arrive in Thimphu and check in at your hotel.

  • Evening walk through the market street and handicraft stores.

  • Welcome dinner featuring authentic Bhutanese cuisine.

  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

  • Start your day at Memorial Chorten, dedicated to the Third King.

  • Visit the majestic Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world.

  • Learn about Bhutanese arts at the Royal Textile Academy and Folk Heritage Museum.

  • Visit the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan's national animal.

  • Pass through forested mountain roads into the glacial valley.

  • Visit Gangtey Monastery, one of the oldest Nyingma institutions in Bhutan.

  • Enjoy a nature walk on the Gangtey Trail, observing black-necked crane habitats (seasonal).

  • Lunch at a local guesthouse.

  • Explore traditional homes and interact with villagers.

  • Overnight stay in a cozy farmhouse or eco-lodge in Phobjikha.

  • After breakfast, begin the drive back to Paro (approx. 6–7 hours).

  • En route, stop at scenic viewpoints and mountain cafés.

  • Lunch on the way.

  • Arrive in Paro by evening and check into your hotel.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in Paro.

  • Drive to Chele La Pass (3,988m), the highest motorable road in Bhutan.

  • Stop to enjoy spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari and fluttering prayer flags.

  • Descend into the peaceful and traditional Haa Valley.

  • Visit Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo, two sacred temples of spiritual significance.

  • Return to Paro in the evening.
