8 Days / 7 Nights Itinerary

  • Welcome to Bhutan! You’ll be greeted at Paro International Airport by our friendly guide and driver with a traditional white scarf (khadar).

  • Begin your scenic journey to Thimphu (approx. 1.5 hours). En route, pause at Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge, a historic iron-chain bridge built by Thangtong Gyalpo.

  • Arrive in Thimphu and check into your hotel. Rest and refresh.

  • In the evening, take a gentle guided stroll through Thimphu’s city center to soak in the capital’s charm, culture, and local markets.

  • Enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant with traditional Bhutanese dishes and optional cultural performances.

  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Begin with a visit to the Memorial Chorten, an iconic stupa dedicated to the Third King of Bhutan.

  • Drive to the hilltop Buddha Dordenma, a 51-meter bronze statue overlooking the valley.

  • Visit the Royal Textile Academy and Folk Heritage Museum to discover Bhutanese arts, weaving, and traditional lifestyle.

  • Explore the Takin Preserve, home to the national animal with its unique appearance.

  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

  • Afternoon visits include the Craft Bazaar, local markets, and optional stops at a monastery or Bhutanese art school.

  • Return to your hotel for dinner and rest.

  • Overnight in Thimphu.

  • After breakfast, embark on a beautiful drive to Punakha (approx. 3.5–4 hours).

  • En route, stop at Dochula Pass (3,100m) to admire the 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views.

  • Continue your drive through forests and rice terraces.

  • Visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, followed by lunch in a nearby village restaurant.

  • Arrive in Punakha and check into your hotel.

  • Visit Punakha Dzong, a grand fortress built at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.

  • Optional: Walk across Bhutan’s longest Suspension Bridge for stunning views.

  • Dinner and overnight in Punakha.

  • Breakfast at the hotel.

  • Begin your return drive to Paro (approx. 4–5 hours) with scenic stops for photos and refreshments.

  • Lunch en route.

  • Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

  • Visit Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery with ancient paintings and views of the valley.

  • Stroll around Paro town, exploring its shops, cafes, and traditional architecture.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in Paro.

  • Early breakfast, followed by a scenic drive to Haa Valley via Chele La Pass (3,988 meters), Bhutan’s highest motorable road.

  • Stop at the pass to take in breathtaking views of Mount Jomolhari and fluttering prayer flags.

  • Descend into the remote and peaceful Haa Valley, one of Bhutan’s most serene and untouched regions.

  • Visit Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple), both linked to Bhutanese mythology.

  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the valley or dine at a local homestay for an authentic meal.

  • Return to Paro in the evening.

  • Dinner and overnight in Paro.

  • After an early breakfast, depart for the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).

  • Begin your guided hike through pine forests with spectacular valley views.

  • Rest halfway at the cafeteria viewpoint before ascending to the monastery perched on a 900-meter cliff.

  • Explore the sacred halls and hear the stories of Guru Rinpoche who meditated here.

  • Return to Paro and enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant.

  • Afternoon visit to Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.

  • Optional: Enjoy a hot stone bath at a local farmhouse to relax your muscles after the hike.

  • Overnight stay in Paro.

  • After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning.

  • Optional activities:

    • Visit a Bhutanese farm for a cooking demonstration or traditional games.

    • Try your hand at Bhutanese archery or dress in traditional attire for a photoshoot.

    • Explore the National Museum (Paro Ta Dzong) for Bhutanese history and artifacts.

  • Lunch in town.

  • Free time in the afternoon for shopping or personal exploration.

  • In the evening, join your guide and team for a heartfelt Farewell Dinner with cultural entertainment, to celebrate your journey through the Kingdom of Happiness.

  • Overnight in Paro.

  • Enjoy a final Bhutanese breakfast.

  • Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
